A small, known crew. The fewer people involved, the fewer people who know. A company running consistent crews rather than assembling them from whoever is available is meaningfully different here, and it is a fair thing to ask about.

No discussion of contents. A crew's business is the weight, the route and the destination. What is in the safe is not relevant to any of that and there is no reason for it to come up.

Sensible scheduling. If you would rather this did not happen on a Saturday morning with the street watching, say so. Evening and weekday scheduling is available and it is a normal request rather than an odd one.

Nothing left in view. Packaging, anchor bolts, a manufacturer's box on the curb. Small things, and they are exactly what a safe move can leave behind announcing itself.

What you can do

Empty it before we arrive, which we ask for anyway. It means contents are never handled by anyone and never seen.

Decide the destination room in advance so there is no discussion about where it should go, in front of people, on the day.

If you would prefer the fewest possible people involved, say so at booking and we will size the crew to the job rather than adding a spare pair of hands.

Why the ownership question is relevant

On a smaller locally owned operation, the person you spoke to is connected to the crew that arrives, so a request like this is understood rather than passed through a system.

Ask any company you are considering whether the people coming work for them, and whether the same crew works together. Those two answers tell you most of what you need to know.

One practical consequence worth planning for: if the safe is being anchored at the new address, somebody will be drilling into your floor, and that is a decision you want settled in advance rather than discussed in front of a crew. Know exactly where it is going, know what is underneath, and if there is any doubt about the floor upstairs or over a finished basement, have that question answered by somebody qualified before the day rather than turning it into a conversation on it.
