We are a locally owned company, so this comparison is not neutral and it would be more useful to you if it were honest about both sides. Here is what each is actually better at.
Just-In-Time Moving works throughout Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County.
What a larger operation does better
Capacity on busy dates. The last Saturday of a summer month is the hardest slot in the calendar. An operation with more crews has more chance of accommodating a date that cannot move.
Backup if something goes wrong. If a crew is unwell or a vehicle fails, a larger company has more options. A small one has fewer, and that is a genuine risk worth weighing if your date is immovable.
Very large or complex jobs. A whole office building, or a house needing several trucks simultaneously, is easier for an operation built around that scale.
Wide geographic coverage, particularly for interstate work with a network at the far end.
What a smaller operation does better
Accountability with a name attached. When something needs sorting out, there is a specific person whose reputation is involved. This is most visible on the days that do not go smoothly.
Continuity. The person you spoke to is connected to the people who turn up. Details raised on the phone reach somebody who will be there.
Crews that work together. Smaller operations tend to run consistent crews rather than assembling them, and people who have worked together move differently in a stairwell.
Flexibility on the unusual. An odd request, a split move, a strange access problem. Smaller operations tend to be able to just decide.
How to choose between them
If your date is fixed and falls in the busiest week of the year, capacity matters most. If your move is unusual, or you care about who turns up, or you want to be able to ring somebody who knows about your job, the smaller side is worth more.
Verify the same things either way: licensing and insurance shown rather than asserted, a written estimate, whether they do the work themselves, and whether they asked you about stairs, parking and heavy items.
We are licensed in Utah and carry general liability insurance, seven days a week including evenings.
