The costs are usually three separate things

Ask also about restrictions, since weight limits, breed restrictions and limits on the number of animals are common and are usually not in the listing.
Do not move a pet in undeclared
It is tempting and it is a bad trade. An undisclosed animal is typically a lease violation, which can mean fees, a demand to remove the pet, or termination.
It also means no protection if a neighbour complains, and it puts your deposit and your housing at risk over something that would have cost a monthly fee.
Moving day is the dangerous part
The practical section. Doors stand open for hours, strangers come and go, and animals bolt. Almost every lost pet on a moving day happens this way.
Best: somewhere else entirely for the day. A friend, day care, or boarding.
If they stay: one room, closed, with a sign on the door, water, their bed and a familiar item. Tell the crew which room and why. Check on them regularly.
Never a vehicle, not even briefly. A parked car here reaches lethal temperatures within minutes, in the shade, with windows cracked.
Travel in a carrier, secured, with the air conditioning on, and never in the back of a moving truck.
At the new place
Set up one room for them first with familiar bedding, and keep them in it while doors are open.
Check the garden or balcony before letting them out: gaps in fencing, gate latches, and anything left by builders on a newer property.
Update the microchip registration and tags with the new address in the first week. It is the single most useful thing and the one people forget.
