Moving Furniture to Stage a House for Sale
Selling a house usually means moving furniture twice: out for the photographs, and back for living in.

Preparing a house for sale nearly always involves shifting furniture, and it is the part sellers do themselves at the worst possible time, in the week they are already dealing with everything else.
It is a short hourly job and it is one of the more useful ways to spend a couple of hours.
Just-In-Time Moving works throughout Washington and Washington County.
Why less furniture shows better
Rooms look larger with fewer things in them, and buyers respond to space without consciously noticing why.
The usual work: remove one or two pieces from each room, clear the surfaces, take out anything oversized for the space, and open up the routes through a room so it can be walked easily.
Personal items come down as well, since buyers need to imagine themselves living there rather than looking at somebody else's home.
Where the furniture goes
The question people have not thought through, and getting it wrong undoes the work.
Not the garage. Buyers open the garage, and here it is a selling point. A garage stacked to the roof reads as a house without storage.
A storage unit for the marketing period is the usual answer and a legitimate cost. A few weeks of rent against a faster sale is straightforward arithmetic.
Or move it early, if you are buying and can get access to the new place first. Furniture that is going anyway may as well go now.
What we do
Move pieces out of rooms and into a vehicle, a unit or another part of the property. Reposition what stays, which frequently means the heavy items nobody wants to shift twice.
Bring things back afterwards, either to stage a different way or to live with while the sale completes.
Move the whole lot at completion.
Standard disassembly and reassembly is included.

Timing it
Do this before the photographs, not after listing. Most buyers decide whether to view from photographs, so a house staged afterwards has already been shown at its worst.
Clear, stage, clean, photograph, list. In that order.
Combine it with the haul
Most sellers have both: things going into storage and things going for good. Doing them in one visit is cheaper than two, and clearing what is leaving anyway is the least expensive presentation work available.
We quote both together, free and in writing.
