Be flexible on the day. Midweek and mid-month is easier for everybody, and it is where a small job fits most comfortably.

Consider an evening. Scheduling runs seven days a week including evenings, which suits small moves well.

Be completely packed. A small move is billed on the crew's time and there is less of it, so an unfinished pack takes a bigger proportional bite.

Be accurate about access. The floor, the lift, and how far a truck can park from your door dominate the length of a small job, since the volume is not what is taking the time.

One honest caveat about small moves generally: they are the jobs where the difference between companies shows least. A studio with a lift and easy parking is straightforward work and most competent crews will do it well.
