What the destination needs
A level, solid base. A filled spa is extremely heavy and it needs continuous support underneath, not four corners. Grass, bare soil and gravel are not bases. A concrete pad, a properly built deck rated for it, or purpose-made spa panels are. If the base is being poured or built, it needs to be finished and cured before the tub arrives, and that timeline is longer than people plan for.
Level actually matters. A spa sitting out of level puts uneven stress on the shell and the plumbing, and it is not something you can correct comfortably once it is full.
Power in the right place. A hard-wired spa needs an electrician, and the supply needs to reach where the tub is going. Establish that before the move rather than discovering the run is on the wrong side.
Access afterwards. Leave room to get at the equipment bay. Spas get pushed tight into a corner and then need servicing from the side that is now against a fence.
Getting it out
Drain it fully at least a day ahead, and fully means the pipework, pump and heater rather than just the shell. In cold weather do not leave a drained tub sitting disconnected for days, because water left in the lines can freeze and damage a working spa before it is loaded.
Measure the narrowest point of the entire route and the tub itself, and give us the actual numbers. The side gate is the most common obstruction, usually because the fence went in after the tub did.
Disconnect the power properly at both ends, arranged when you book.
The side path is the other thing to walk before the day. Air conditioning units, downspouts, meter housings and landscaping that has grown since the tub went in are the usual obstructions, and any one of them can be the difference between a straightforward carry and no route at all. If the spa sits inside a deck surround, find out in advance whether a section of decking lifts, because that frequently turns an impossible job into a simple one.
