near me Moving Company
South Jordan, Utah
Everyone says licensed and insured. Fewer people explain what that does and does not mean for your belongings.
Insurance is the part of hiring a mover that people nod along to and rarely ask about properly, usually because the vocabulary is unfamiliar and it feels like a question that suggests distrust.
It is not. Ask it of anybody, including us.
Just-In-Time Moving works across South Jordan and Salt Lake County. We are licensed in Utah and carry general liability insurance.
The distinction worth understanding
General liability and coverage for the goods being moved are not the same thing, and people conflate them constantly.
General liability broadly concerns damage a company causes in the course of its work, which is why building managers ask for a certificate before letting a crew into a shared building. It is a normal requirement and a reasonable thing to verify.
Coverage for your belongings in transit is a separate question with its own terms and limits. Ask specifically what applies to your goods, what the limits are, and what is excluded, and ask for it in terms you actually understand rather than accepting a reassurance.
The follow-up worth asking: what is the process if something is damaged, and what do you need from me for it to work?
What you should do regardless
Check your own policies. Homeowner and renter policies sometimes cover belongings during a move, sometimes only partially, and sometimes not at all. Your insurer can answer in a five minute call, and it is worth making before rather than after.
Photograph anything valuable before it moves. Condition, serial numbers where they exist. It takes minutes and it is the difference between a claim and a conversation about what something looked like.
Keep the irreplaceable with you. Documents, jewellery, medication, anything of genuine sentimental value. No coverage replaces those, which is why every reputable mover says the same thing.
Raise problems on the day. Damage noticed while the crew is there is a conversation with people who were present. Damage raised a week later is much harder for everyone.
The rest of the checklist
Ask whether the estimate is written, whether they perform the move themselves, and notice whether they asked about stairs, parking and heavy items, since a quote made without those is a guess.
Call (435) 862-3080 or email office@movingjustintime.com and ask us any of the above.

Moving Company — FAQ
What is the difference between liability insurance and cover for my belongings?
General liability broadly concerns damage caused in the course of the work, which is what building managers ask to see. Cover for goods in transit is a separate question with its own limits and exclusions, so ask about that specifically rather than accepting a general reassurance.
Does my own insurance cover a move?
Sometimes, sometimes partially, sometimes not at all. Your insurer can answer in a five minute call and it is worth making before the move rather than after it, because the answer may change what you keep with you.
What should I do if something is damaged?
Raise it while the crew is still there. Damage noticed on the day is a conversation with the people who were present; damage raised a week later is much harder for everyone. Photograph valuables beforehand so condition is not in question.
