A grand piano does not get carried. It gets dismantled, laid on its side and strapped to a board.
People are often surprised by what moving a grand piano actually involves, and it is worth describing, because knowing the procedure makes it obvious why it is not a job for willing helpers.

What happens to a grand
The lid comes off or is secured. The music desk is removed. The pedal lyre, which is the assembly holding the pedals underneath, is detached, because it is delicate and it is exactly where a piano would take weight if it were tipped without removing it.
The piano is then lifted at the bass side and the leg on that corner is removed. The instrument comes down onto a padded piano board, on its side, and is strapped to it. The remaining two legs come off once it is supported.
From there it is a wrapped, strapped, rigid object on a board rather than a piano, and it moves on that board for the whole journey. Reassembly at the far end is the same sequence in reverse.
Every stage of that is where damage happens if it is done wrong: a lyre left on, a leg taken off before the weight is supported, a strap over a finish without padding.
Uprights are not simpler, only smaller
An upright carries its mass high and toward the back, which is what makes it want to tip on a threshold, a stair nosing or a slope. It moves on proper equipment and strapped, and the crew is positioned for the tip that should not happen.
A small spinet and a full-size studio upright are meaningfully different weights, so make and model matter.
What we need from you
The type, the make and model if you can find them, and for a grand the length, measured from the front of the keys to the far end of the case.
The route at both ends: stairs and how many, whether there is a turn, door widths if anything is marginal, and where a truck can park. Photographs of the staircase are worth more than a description.
If a lift is involved, whether it will actually take the length of the instrument on a board.
Afterwards
Have it tuned once it has settled rather than the same day. Both the move and the change of room affect tuning, on every piano moved by anybody. Position it against an interior wall, away from vents and out of direct sun.
