Background-Checked Crew
Every Just-In-Time Moving crew member is background-checked, uniformed, and trained in proper lifting, furniture protection, and customer service.
Nobody plans for this part, which is exactly why it goes badly when it happens. The steps are straightforward and most of them have to happen quickly, so they are worth knowing before you need them.
Just-In-Time Moving works throughout Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County.
Before the move: the ten minutes that matter
Photograph anything valuable, including its condition and any serial numbers. Photograph the empty property at both ends, including existing marks.
Keep the written estimate. It records what was agreed, including the volume described and the access assumed, and it is exactly what is missing in most disputes.
Keep documents, jewellery, medication and anything irreplaceable with you. Those are excluded from cover almost universally.
On the day: raise it immediately
The single most important thing in this entire page. Damage noticed while the crew is present is a conversation with people who were there. Damage found a week later is a dispute about what happened.
Do the final walkthrough properly: the truck, then every room, then the garage. If something is wrong, say so then, note it, and photograph it.
The same applies to a figure. If the amount being asked differs from the estimate, ask why before settling rather than after, and ask for the explanation in writing.
Afterwards: the sequence
Contact the company first, in writing, with specifics: what, when, photographs, and the estimate. Give them the chance to put it right. Most reputable companies will, and it is much faster than any alternative.
Ask for the claims process rather than a general assurance. Who handles it, what they need, and how long it takes.
Check your own policies. Homeowner or renter cover sometimes applies to belongings during a move.
Keep everything. Every message, the estimate, the invoice, the photographs, dated.
If it cannot be resolved directly, the documentation you gathered on the day is what determines whether anything else is possible.

The best protection is earlier
Almost every difficult situation traces to a quote made without questions, a mover who could not be verified, or nothing being written down. Ask to see licensing and insurance, get the estimate in writing, and notice whether a company asked you anything.
