What has to happen first
Appliances need preparation and it takes longer than people allow.
Refrigerators and freezers. Empty them, then defrost, then dry them out. Give it at least a day. A freezer that is still defrosting is water in a truck and water on a floor, and a sealed damp appliance sitting for a day or two develops a smell that is very difficult to remove. Leave the doors ajar once dry.
Washing machines. Drain the hoses fully, which retains more water than people expect. Many front-loading machines also have transit bolts that secure the drum, and if you still have them, they should go back in before the machine moves. Without them the drum swings on its suspension and can damage itself.
Dryers. Disconnect the vent. If it is a gas dryer, disconnection is work for somebody qualified and needs arranging in advance at both ends.
Dishwashers and anything plumbed. Disconnected and drained beforehand, not on the day.
Getting them out
Tell us the route and what the flooring is. Appliances are heavy on a small footprint, and tile and vinyl both mark. Protection goes down before anything moves.
Stairs change the job significantly for anything appliance-sized, so say how many and whether there is a turn.
Measure the doorway if the appliance is large. Some refrigerators do not fit through a standard door without the doors coming off the appliance itself, and that is worth establishing in advance.
Other single items

Sleeper sofas are much heavier than they look because of the steel frame inside. And if something was assembled inside a room, it may not come out whole, so say so and we will plan for taking it apart.

Curbside and threshold delivery are common and they mean what they say: the item reaches your driveway or just inside the front door, and installation, connection and taking the old one away are frequently separate.
