What a spa supply usually involves

Most full-size hot tubs run on a dedicated two hundred and forty volt circuit with its own breaker, protected by a ground fault device, and fed to a disconnect within sight of the tub but at a required distance from it. Bonding of metal components is part of the installation.

Smaller plug-in spas are simpler, though even those want a properly protected outlet.

Before the move

Have an electrician disconnect the spa and make the supply safe at the old address. Not the day of the move if you can avoid it; the day before, so nothing is being improvised while a crew waits.

Leaving a live abandoned circuit behind is its own problem, particularly if you are selling.

At the new address

This is where planning saves money. A spa needs its supply in place before it is useful, and if the new property has no existing spa circuit, that is an electrical project rather than an afternoon.

Sequence it: electrician assesses the panel and the run, work is scheduled and permitted, the pad is prepared, then the spa is delivered and set, then the electrician makes the final connection.
