How it comes free depends on how it went down. Wedge anchors into a concrete slab release differently from lag bolts into a timber floor, and a safe that has been bolted down for fifteen years in a damp basement may have seized fixings.
Occasionally an anchor will not release cleanly and has to be cut. That is normal and it is better than levering against the safe body.
The hole in the old floor
Worth thinking about in advance, particularly if you are selling or leaving a rental.
Concrete leaves bolt holes that are straightforward to fill. A timber floor leaves holes through the finished surface, and if the safe sat on carpet the compression mark and the holes will both be visible.
Deal with it as part of the move rather than discovering it during a final inspection.
Choosing the spot at the new house
Do this before the safe arrives, because it is not something to shift afterwards.
The floor structure matters. A concrete slab is ideal and takes both the weight and a proper anchor. Over joists on an upper floor, the safe should be positioned with the structure in mind and against a load-bearing wall, and if the weight is significant it is worth asking somebody qualified.
A corner is better than a wall. Two walls resist leverage in more directions than one.
Think about door swing. A safe door needs its full arc, and safes get positioned so the door cannot open properly more often than you would expect.
Consider humidity and visibility. Not against an exterior wall in a basement if you can avoid it, and not somewhere it is the first thing anybody sees.
Re-anchoring
The install at the new address is its own step and needs the right fixings for that floor. Ask about it when booking rather than assuming it is included, so the crew arrives with what the job needs.
