Junk removal is mostly a problem of scale. Any one item is something you could deal with yourself. It is the combination, the fact that it is heavy and awkward and there is a lot of it and you do not own a truck, that turns a Saturday into three Saturdays.

Just-In-Time Moving hauls junk across St. George and Washington County. It is the same crews and the same trucks as the moving work, which is why the awkward heavy items are not a problem.

Garage, estate, renovation

Three jobs come up most often, and they are quite different from each other.

The garage clear-out is the ordinary one. Years of accumulation, a broken appliance or two, old furniture, boxes nobody has opened since the last move. Usually straightforward, usually more volume than the owner estimates.

The renovation clear-out is heavier and more concentrated. Cabinets, fixtures, old flooring, drywall offcuts, and the sort of dense construction debris that is far heavier than it looks. If you are getting a quote, it helps a lot to say what the material is rather than just how big the pile is, because a pile of tile and a pile of cabinet doors are not the same job.

The estate or downsizing clear-out is the one that needs the most care, and often the least hurry. It is usually a whole property, it usually happens at a difficult time, and it usually involves a decision about what is going and what is being kept that is not fully made when we arrive. That is fine. We would rather work at your pace and take away what has actually been decided on than pressure you toward a faster answer.

How it gets quoted

By what there is and what it takes to get it out, which means we want to see it. Photographs are usually enough for a straightforward load. For anything larger, or anything where access is difficult, it is worth us looking properly.

The things that change a quote most are not volume alone. They are stairs, a long carry from the pile to where the truck can park, and material that is dense rather than bulky. Tell us if the load is behind a gate, up a flight, or at the back of a property with no vehicle access.

The estimate comes in writing before anything is loaded. If there are items you are unsure about, ask before the day rather than on it. There are things we cannot take, and it is better to know that in advance so you can make other arrangements rather than being left with a pile after the truck has gone.
