Moving a Business That Runs on a Season

A lot of Cedar City business is seasonal. Tourism and the festival season, the university year, and winter visitors heading to the mountain all concentrate trade into particular months.
For a business like that, the timing of a relocation matters far more than which company does it.
Just-In-Time Moving works throughout Cedar City and Iron County.
Move in your trough, not your peak
Obvious, and worth stating because businesses routinely move when a lease happens to end rather than when trade allows.
Closed days in your peak season cost several times what the same days cost off-season. If a lease end and your busy period collide, it is frequently worth paying to extend the lease by a month or two rather than closing at the wrong time.
Work out what a closed day actually costs you in your peak, put a number on it, and use that number when deciding.
Plan backwards from opening, not forwards from closing
The mistake is planning the move and assuming you open afterwards. Do it the other way.
Fix the date you must be trading. Then work backwards: systems tested, stock in, fixtures placed, move, connectivity live, permits and inspections cleared, lease signed.
Anything requiring an inspection or a permit at the new premises goes at the start of that list, since its timing is not within your control.
Protect the things customers actually use
For a seasonal business, being findable is the whole game when the season starts.
The phone number and the internet determine whether you are trading, so order the circuit as soon as the lease is signed and arrange number handling well ahead.
Update every listing, map profile and booking platform, and do it before the season rather than during. Visitors search rather than remember, so an out-of-date address costs custom directly.
Signage at the old premises, and tell regular customers and any partner businesses.

Stock and equipment
Run stock down into the move rather than transporting it. A clearance before a relocation reduces the load and converts slow stock into cash for the setup.
Measure the new space before deciding which fixtures come; shelving and display units are frequently moved out of habit and then do not fit.
Sequencing
Where you can hold both premises briefly, move in stages: storage and surplus first, set up the new space, then the working core in one short session. We work evenings and overnight.
